From an administration point of view, I would like to setup a time after which a document with invalid meta data is automatically deleted.
Practical use of functionality?
Since everybody sees all entires of documents that are uploaded, this functionality would help to keep the system clean of garbage. |

What is the impact of not doing this?
Our experience in large projects shows that many entries of documents that do not have the required meta data just create unwanted garbage. These entries just prevent a smooth overview over relevant documents. |
Hi @Guest,
Thank you for your feedback.
BCDE filters collections to show both valid and invalid documents by default. It is possible for users to manually choose to only view valid documents and reduce the clutter if required.
Rather than automatically deleting information with invalid metadata, an alternative might be:
Introduce a new filter option to return "valid and/or invalid and created recently" documents. Where recently could be a number of days or weeks specified in configuration.
Introduce the ability to set the default for this filter option for all users.
This would have the following effect:
Documents with valid metadata will be seen
Documents with invalid metadata BUT were added recently - e.g. less than 5 days ago - will be seen
This will give time for them to be given valid metadata
Documents with invalid metadata but were added a while ago - e.g. more than 5 days ago - will not be seen
This will have all the benefits of reducing clutter for users without deleting potentially important information. It will also make it easy to find documents that are invalid and weren't added recently in order to chase up those users to set valid metadata.
Best regards, Paul Houghton...
