To enable the API process to ensure the company names are updated inline with the single source of truth. An additional field to the Company information to store the commercial system unique ID or other immutable item from there.

What is the impact of not doing this?
All company names are in the process of being reviewed and matched to the commercial system (we have over 2500 of them in more than one server). Company names are updated throughout the year and being able to match a piece of metadata will ensure it is updated within BCDE within a short timeframe and aim to prevent duplicate companies being created. Currently this will be a manual process to update based on additional reports that will have to be created (20 changes in 9 months) |

Companies can be given a description in BCDE. Are you able to use the description field to capture the data required and access it via the API?
