Replace File Monitor with Zero Install "Lock and Download/Upload to Home and Unlock"

As a user I want to be able to lock, download, edit, re-upload and unlock a document via a streamlined process. (Rather than manually having to carry out the individual steps.)

Can we replace the file monitor with a BCDE based, zero install set of enhancements that:

  • Lock and Download - a single operation to lock and download documents to your device.

  • Upload to Home and Unlock (via File and Process) - drag and drop to your home will correlate against the documents you have locked and downloaded and offer to revise those in preference to auto-filing behaviour.

  • Remind you that there are locked documents you need to "revise" - a system notification when you first log in on the Home page?

Practical use of functionality?
Lock and Download the site plan. Edit it on my device. Drag and drop into Home to revise and unlock it.
What is the impact of not doing this?

File monitor only works in IE. IE is now no longer supported.
