As a user I want prevent duplicate names in a container when renaming, editing metadata, or revising via a form to help ensure document names are unique.
In BCDE, it is possible for 2 document names to exist within the same location. E.g. If a document is renamed after upload.
There is no way of knowing if another document with the same name exists unless you actively search for it.
Instead of searching to see if there is already a duplicate name, perhaps the edit metadata page could display a warning message detailing that there is already a document with the same name in another version stack.
