Support for Source updating metadata in the destination (i.e. without file transfer)

As a designer I want to be able to send a document version from PW into BCDE for approval via workflow and for the status and comments to be updated and available in PW against the original document version.

I.e. To be able to update metadata in BCDE using Automated Workflow and then transfer those metadata updates into a destination (e.g. ProjectWise) using Sync. (Just transferring metadata and not revising a document.)

As a designer I want the ProjectWise "Workflow Status" to be updated when a document is rejected in BCDE to reflect this review.

As a designer I want the ProjectWise "Workflow Status" of the native document related to the flattened PDF rendition that was transferred into BCDE to be updated.

Practical use of functionality?
Increases the speed of aligning the source and destination servers without the need to transfer all files each time.
What is the impact of not doing this?
Servers are only aligned when files are transferred and not when file metadata fields are updated in the source server.
