As a workflow designer I want to be able to edit the metadata of a document based upon its existing metadata values to help keep my workflow diagram simple.
E.g. if the document is for status S0-S4 then set the approval to "Value 1".
This is effectively a corollary to the distribution matrix but for editing document metadata. Similar benefits can be realised in keeping the diagrams simpler - aiding clarity AND general performance.

Workflow diagrams that require complex edit metadata settings will have to be expressed using gateways which will make their creation and maintenance more involved. |
