Send Task - Perform the action as a nominated single user role/user related to event

As a workflow designer I want to be able to configure the send email task to be sent by a nominated actor - both event and role options should be available.

At present, the workflow is sent as the creator of the workflow.

Practical use of functionality?

When a workflow includes a task to send an email, the system should allow configuration of the sender identity on the Send Task Node.
What is the impact of not doing this?

  • Node Send Task Emails fails when the workflow creator is deactivated, leading to missed communications

  • Workflows may appear to complete successfully, masking underlying issues (if not marked as a "Required Node")

  • Workarounds (e.g., reactivating accounts, restarting workflows) are time-consuming and error-prone

  • Customer confidence may be affected, especially in regulated or high-visibility projects like LTC
